Vegan Butter Cookies!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted or stirred before measuring
- dash salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- blanched almond halves(opt)
Preparation:
Mix cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir dry ingredients into butter mixture; mixing until well blended. Shape dough into small balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets; press an almond half into the top of each ball. Bake butter cookies at 300° for 20 to 30 minutes, or until just lightly browned. Makes 5 to 6 dozen butter cookies.I used Best Life butter spread because that was the only butter available but I like to use Earth Balance |
1cup of Butter |
I used Organic Cane Sugar |
This is 1 cup of Sugar |
Mix cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy |
Add 1teaspoon Vanilla Extract |
I mixed it together |
Stir dry ingredients into butter mixture |
Add a dash of salt |
Mix it all together |
Shape dough into small balls |
You can use a glass pan or cookie sheet |
Add just a little oil to grease the pan |
Bake butter cookies at 300° for 20 to 30 minutes, or until just lightly browned |
Makes 5 to 6 dozen butter cookies |
